Bummer
After working my ass off in my new room I decided to treat myself to no less than 3 rented DVD-'s. Huddled up in pillows, a big glass of red wine and a couple pieces of exquisite old cheese within reach, I happily turned on the first movie.
The menu started playing, with a few lags and jolts. Already planning my speech about scratched discs for the guy at the rental store (or whatever such a place is called) I tried selecting the "start movie"-option.
Nothing happened, the screen blinked and then with a 'POFF' it went black. Only a whiny beeping sound came from the speakers and soon a distinct smell of burning plastic reached my pillowy bunker across the room. Wide-eyed I ran to turn it off, for the red stand-by LED was still burning and smoke started billowing out the top.
So... another TV bites the dust! And all I did was watch a movie. I'm done with TV-'s, really I am. It was my most treasured pastime for half my life, but no more.
R.I.P. TV

To bad, good luck recovering from the blast of unexpected agony.
In Hilversum it's possible to just call the garbage disposal unit (grofvuil) and ask them to come and pick it up... I'm sure there's something similar in Utrecht?
That sucks! Guess you'll have to watch them on your computer now? Anyway, how's the project going? I'm really curious.
agossie!
